The Burg's
Servant Leader

Thank you for electing me to serve our city. I love being a servant leader. It is an honor, a privilege, and indeed a challenging job. I was first elected in 2014, then again in 2018, and once more in 2022. Would you please vote for me one more time? Elect me to continue to do the work as a community connector who brings residents and organizations from diverse communities together. That’s the skill set that I bring which differentiates me from the other members of the Harrisonburg Democratic Party seeking the nomination. Fortunately, I’ve been able to continuously build relationships throughout the city and connect community members with one another and city staff. I have helped to build bridges and community throughout my time on council and I will continue to do so.

I’m asking for an opportunity to continue to work as a community connector. We’ve been able to open the gates of City Hall and pull back any mystery where there may be confusion or questions of how municipal government can help enhance the quality of life.

We’ve done a good job of connecting city resources with our large organizations, our neighborhoods, individuals, and business owners that make up the city of Harrisonburg and I’ve been at the forefront of that. Making sure that relationships that were broken have been mended and new relationships have started, and so far, things are going good about moving forward.

This is a pivotal moment where we have an opportunity to continue to move forward in a great way. Harrisonburg, over the last 10 years, has had its fair share of bumps and bruises along the way. As we all have as individuals, collectively, as a state, as a nation, and as a world. However, we’ve had tons of wins together as well and I think you know about the wins that we’ve shared. As you reflect on those wins, as you reflect on a greater Harrisonburg, as you reflect on our economy, how safe and how clean Harrisonburg is, and how much of a great place it is to live that you allow me four more years to continue the fulfillment and fruition of several projects that we have on the table. In addition, the lives and quality of life continue to be improved in the city of Harrisonburg.

                            Thank you,

                     Councilman C. Jones
